Washington, Aug 4, 2008 -

U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, along with U.S. Representative John Boozman (AR-03) today announced nearly one million dollars in funds to improve the Mulberry water system.

“These federal dollars will help provide critical water improvements for the people of Mulberry,” said Lincoln.  “I commend local leaders for working to secure this significant Rural Development investment.”

"These funds are critical to upgade Mulberry's water infrastructure and enable a reliable, clean supply of water to area homes and businesses," Pryor said. "I'm please to see federal resources reinvested in local communities this way."

“Improving the water system is vital to helping a community provide a basic necessity to the people and businesses that call Mulberry home,” Boozman said. "This funding will go a long way to giving Mulberry the dependable quality of water it needs.”

Rural Development secured $936,000 in loans for the project. This funding will allow Mulberry to improve its infrastructure and provide citizens and businesses with a safe and reliable water source.
