Technology Upgrades for Northwest Arkansas College
Washington,
Jul 2, 2008 -
U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and U.S. Representative John Boozman (AR-03) today announced a grant to North Arkansas College for technology upgrades.
The United States Department of Education awarded the college $205,349 to help fund upgrades in computer labs and other technology. The advancements include equipment used to educate students in healthcare majors. Nearly one-third of graduates are allied health majors.
“It is critical that Arkansas’s students receive the best training possible using the most up-to-date technology to be competitive in today’s global economy,” Lincoln said. “I commend Northark’s dedication to its students and to the greater northern Arkansas community.”
“Quality healthcare and advanced technology go hand in hand,” said Pryor. “This investment is well-deserved and will help North Arkansas College continue to address the critical shortage of health care professionals our state is facing.”
“It is important that we give Arkansas students the necessary tools to compete in the 21st century job market,” Boozman said. “This is a great asset that will go a long way to help educate all students including those studying health care professions that continuously look for incentives to help fill positions with qualified employees.”
