Boozman applauds regional water quality efforts
Point Lookout, Missouri,
Mar 19, 2008 -
U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today joined U.S. Representative Roy Blunt (R-MO) in addressing regional water quality issues.
“I enjoyed working with Congressman Blunt and his office to be proactive regarding water quality issues that are so important to Missouri and Arkansas,” Congressman Boozman said.
The hearing, held at the Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks, helped the congressmen identify what problems exist.
The congressmen heard from several panelists who were invited to talk about water quality issues in Arkansas and Missouri. Those experts discussed what has been done and what further actions are needed to protect the region’s streams, groundwater and water basins.
“The panelists shared cutting edge information and the cooperative efforts that are underway in regards to water quality,” Congressman Boozman said.
The panelists discussed voluntary steps that can and have been taken to protect the natural resource.
“I was pleased with the progress that has been made, but we must continue to work together to solve the problems of water quality and in some instances, quantity,” Congressman Boozman said.
