Boozman Names Three for Eastern District
Boozman: Candidates “well qualified” for to be U.S. Attorney

U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today released the names of the three candidates he has submitted to the White House for consideration as potential nominees to become the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
Boozman selected, in alphabetical order, former Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court Betty C. Dickey of Heber Springs; attorney Jason B. Hendren of Little Rock; and State Representative Michael Lamoureux of Russellville.
“I am proud to submit the names of three Arkansans who are well qualified to be United States Attorneys,” Boozman said. “This is the culmination of a process which I hope will do right by the people of Eastern Arkansas.”
Dickey has a legal career spanning over 20 years. She received a B.A. in English from the University of Arkansas and her J.D. from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock in 1985. After a series of public service positions, Dickey was named Chief Legal Counsel for Gov. Mike Huckabee in 2003. A year later, Dickey was became the first woman to serve as Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. From 2005-2006, she remained on the Court as an Associate Justice.
Dickey is a native of Black Rock and Walnut Ridge.
Hendren is a partner in the Little Rock firm Friday, Eldredge and Clark, L.L.P.. He is a 1994 graduate of the University of Arkansas, majoring in English and Communications. He received his J.D. from the UALR School of Law in 1997. He has taught at the Bowen (UALR) School of Law and the UA School of Law and has performed pro bono work on behalf of VOCALS (Center for Arkansas Legal Services) and Ozark Legal Services.
Hendren is a Gravette native.
Michael Lamoureux is a three-term member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, representing Russellville’s District 68, and maintains a private practice in Russellville. First elected to the House in 2002, Lamoureux served as the House Republican Leader during the 85th General Assembly. He has also served at the Yell County Public Defender since 2000. Lamoureux is a 1997 graduate of Arkansas Tech University, studying History and Political Science and a 1999 graduate of the UALR School of Law.
Lamoureux is a Dover native.
“I look forward to working with my Senators and the Administration to expedite the process to confirm one of these three candidates,” Boozman said.
